The shop hop is going on from April 25-27 2019 and there are 20 shops involved. This was my first shop hop and I had a blast. (Thank you Shelly, Susan and Kandy!) Over 200 miles and 8 shops in 8 hours! Not bad considering it took us 1.5 hours to get to the first one in Reardan, WA and we used up about 45 minutes on lunch! Oh wait, we actually went to 9, but the 9th one wasn’t participating in the shop hop.
This website shows the participating stores and other important info:

How a shop hop works: The first store gave us a passport. Every store we visited stamped the passport. Each store also gave us a copy of a star block specific to their store. Put them all together and you have a quilt….more stores equals more patterns which equals bigger quilts. Each store we went to also gave us a free gift: folding scissors, fat quarters, thread, etc. And of course we also had their entire inventory at our disposal to shop to our hearts content, well almost, we were on a time crunch.
Now, you may think if you’ve been to one store you’ve been to them all. I used to think the same thing a couple years ago, silly silly me. But I have seen the light and now know that is sooooo not true. The stores we went to ranged from home businesses with limited inventory to stores with massive square footage and inventory variety to match. I had a blast taking in all the different quilting environments! Below are pictures of a few that I especially enjoyed. Unfortunately, there aren’t any pictures of the first shop we stopped at, Stitch!, in Reardan. While there I received a call from the vet concerning test results for my little schnauzer Sophie, so I was a little distracted. It was a lovely shop, the ladies were friendly and helpful and I highly recommend a stop there.
A shop hop is a great way to get a quick introduction to stores you possibly didn’t even know existed or ones you’ve heard about but never made it too; ones you want to return too and ones you’re happy to never see again. But mostly it’s a great way to spend time laughing with good friends while sipping lemon drops at lunch and making those memories that will always make you smile!
Looks like fun!!
Dana, what is wrong with Sophie? Will she be ok?
